Lauren Catellani is an independent choreographer based in Perth. She completed her training at WAAPA and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance (Honours) in 2017. After completing research in dance as an expanded discipline her interests have continued to travel in that direction. Her choreographic practice is focussed on dialogues with objects, with spaces, with people and working with varying unpredictability. She has created work for FRINGEWORLD for the past three years, where in 2019 her first full length work WATERING won the WA Dance and Physical Theatre Award.
About this event
A work interested in the nature of beginnings, impulses, limits and the unprovoked impetus of togetherness. It comprises of a collection of insights into the failure of communication, the language of intimacy and how much is shared between bodies and their surroundings. Four dancers and a number of objects are examined as landscapes, monuments, barriers, curators and as the location of desire.
